Hi friends, welcome to Toast & Create!
I know, what in the world am I doing starting a blog in 2026, right? Well, we’ll find out together. In the meantime, let me introduce myself properly. Sorta.
I’m Liyana, a creative designer and the person behind Toast & Create!
I spend my working days as a creative in the corporate world. And while I love what I do, I’ve realised I also need a space to explore creativity beyond the brief. Somewhere I can try an idea without waiting for approval, learn something just because it interests me, and make things simply because I want to.
So, here we are. A little corner of the internet to call my own—and hopefully, one you’ll enjoy spending time in too.
Why Toast & Create?
When being creative is your job, your own ideas can end up at the bottom of the list. You spend the day creating for everyone else, then come home with very little energy left for yourself. I know that feeling a little too well.
I wanted to make room for my own creativity again, and this blog is part of that commitment. A place to share what I’m making, keep track of my progress, and actually do something with the ideas I keep saving for “one day.”
You’ll find a mix of creative projects, watercolour experiments, tips and tricks, and honest updates about life as a working creative. I’ll share the process along the way too: the first attempts, the changes of direction, and the things I’m still figuring out.
I’m also giving entrepreneurship a go, starting with my own art. This will be a space where you can discover and shop my work, hear about new pieces, and follow along as I learn how to turn something I enjoy into a business.
A space for us to keep creating
My hope is for Toast & Create to grow into a community of like-minded people. Working creatives, hobbyists, serial project starters, or anyone trying to make a little more room for the things they enjoy.
We can exchange ideas, share what we’ve learned, and encourage each other to keep going—without making every hobby feel like another deadline. Some days, I’ll have a useful tip to share. Other days, it might just be a small update on a project that’s taking much longer than expected.
If that sounds familiar, I hope you’ll feel at home here.
And if you’re stopping by, say hello! Tell me what you love making, or what you’ve been meaning to start. I’d love to know who’s on the other side of the screen.
More toast, more experiments, and more little beginnings are coming. Stay tuned!
